Restorative Dentistry for Damaged or Missing Teeth

Dental Implants

Dental implants are titanium posts designed to replace lost tooth roots. They can replace one, several, or all of your teeth. Dr. Goodman will first perform a precise oral surgery, placing one or more implants in your jawbone. During a period of four to six months, your bone and gums will heal around the implants. Next, Dr. Goodman will attach your carefully crafted restoration. Implants keep dentures and other restoration firmly in place as you chew and speak.

Dental Crowns

Dental crowns are tooth-shaped restorations that can perform both cosmetic and restorative functions. After treating damaged teeth, Dr. Goodman will place these custom-made “caps” over the teeth. Crowns provide support for the tooth, restoring the ability to properly chew and enunciate. Your restoration can be made from several different materials. For the most lifelike appearance, we typically recommend porcelain.

Dental Bridges

A dental bridge can fill a gap left by missing teeth, restoring your appearance and oral function. Traditional bridges are made of several fused crowns. The two crowns on the ends will fit over neighboring healthy teeth, which provide support for the bridge. Dr. Goodman will reshape these teeth and take impressions to ensure a natural, comfortable fit. We also offer permanent implant-supported bridges.

Options include full, partial, immediate, and implant-supported dentures. Every denture we provide is carefully crafted for a lifelike look and feel. Our custom dentures are designed to restore your health, comfort, appearance, and confidence.

Tooth-colored Fillings

Dr. Goodman provides tooth-colored dental fillings, the most natural-looking and biocompatible way to restore a tooth following cavity treatment. Traditional silver amalgam fillings require extensive alteration of a tooth, make teeth look unhealthy, and can lead to fractured teeth as they expand and contract. Tooth-colored fillings consist of a special resin that achieves a more secure bond with the tooth, and expand and contract at virtually the same rate as dental tissue for superior long-term results.

Full Mouth Reconstruction

If your dental health is severely compromised, you may be a good candidate for full mouth reconstruction. Dr. Goodman will combine treatments to completely restore the function, health, comfort, and appearance of your smile. He will begin by addressing any existing gum disease or decay. Treatment often includes implants, crowns, bridges, and dentures, and can incorporate TMJ treatment, bone grafting, and cosmetic procedures as well.
